Sunday…
We recognize there are other needs in our group; namely being relational together and practicing outreach within our community and spheres of influence. SO, we are going to do just that.
Wednesday…
We focus heavily on the “Studying Scriptures” on Sunday mornings while the adults sit-in with Ron. We provide donuts, bagels, and juice before the study just make sure everyone’s awake and able to participate.
The 1st Wednesday of each month…
Each Wednesday night will consist of 3 to 4 worship songs, announcements, a devotional, and time in our D-TEAMS to talk about what was taught and to “bond”. HOWEVER, the 1st Wednesday night of each month will be unique. It will be our D-TEAM planning time. The students will come at 7:30pm, we will have an extended worship time, and then break off in to our group to plan our events and outreach opportunities. The exciting part of this plan is that it is being birthed naturally and out of what the students are looking for. We didn’t scheme and plan something that only theoretically connects to our kids (I’ve done that before!). Though knowing that, we still recognize that this will be an ever-changing thing, morphing and growing as our students grow. We are willing to let it. D-TEAMS are for this season.
D-TEAMS…
Each student will be in a designated group that will be facilitated by at least 2 young-adult leaders. The purpose of the D-TEAMS will be two-fold: 1. To bond together. 2. To plan and implement in-service/out-service events (the student’s ideas) for both the MS & HS groups. This school year, each D-TEAM will be asked to plan and lead one fun event, and one outreach focused event that the other groups can participate in. For now, we will divide our Wednesday night students in to 3 groups; middle schoolers, high school guys, and high school girls. TheCrew will work with the students to help them successfully accomplish the things they want to do. D-TEAMS will be both, our vehicle of ministry, as well as our Bible study discussion groups on normal Wednesday nights. D-TEAMS are for discipleship and teamwork oriented outreach.
